This post is about the view points of our princi.Recently he had come to our class to preach about writing gate exam, about scoring good marks and blah blah.Well I do agree with him that GATE opens many oppurtunities for growth.But even while saying that he respects all jobs he just used up most of his time to blacken software jobs and the career prospects of taking MBA.He has often cited examples of people quitting software jobs , about the guy who quit INFOSYS after two weeks to illustrate that this industry butchers its employees.Well I say there is only one way to describe the guys who quit their jobs--Incompetent.Those guys will face similar challenges whether he goes for a tech career or software career.He also said that the probability of getting into an IIM is 1 in infinity , but so is the Prob to get into an IIT.
He doesn't appear to understand the view that there may be people with varied interests other than the tech field and being an engineer you are at an advantage in entering many other fields as engineers learn to solve real world problems.He has to understand that even when Teaching is a noble profession or you can serve the country by writing IES there are guys out there with totally different perceptions
And about our class assignments and class test.They want to make this institution into an IIT and has categorically succeeded in converting it into the level of a convent school.All these concerned authorities should understand that we are of age to decide what is good for us and not.In professional courses the role of teachers should be just to give a direction into the course and not to make students sit and study.The class assignments intended to help us score in university will surely help in reducing sessional marks.
Now the insult aimed at playing.'Panthu thatti kalikkunnu'.Man I am so fed up with these egg headed scholars.I am not venturing into a rhetoric about the advantages of sports.Companies dont recruit machines.They recruit humans who are susceptible to stress and only people who have hobbies or indulge in sports can escape from it.Not all can read tech articles or literature works at times of strain.
And last of all I want to wish my class all the best in dominating the system through co-operation , copy the meaningless assignments , just do what you feel is right.

Well,I understand from the blog that it ws radhakrishnan who has wrote abt view points of our princi. I wud like to tel u one thing,a principal post is the most responsible one. He's nt nly to tc of the 60 avg/best students out of 100, but also the rest 40. May be u r able to decide on ur own,but there are students who cant make their own decision. u may b open to the diversities and opportunities of life, but some r nt. Those simply swim wit the tide. Say,abt 20 students dnt need any1's help to study,n abt 40 jus need a push, but the rest 40 needs guidance. A princi as well as teachers concentrate to bring them up wit their fellow ppl. Those 40 jus as they swim wit the tide,try to enjoy like those 60. it is to awaken them n to let them knw abt the opportunities such talks r given. pls take it in the right sense. and i do dare to tell tht atlst some of us thnk tht getng a job is the end of studies. i also dare to tell tht i also dnt knw abt the opportunities.
i thnk u r aware of the persuasive way of talkng tactics. this is some way of tht.(a CAT aspirer ought to know tht-the future managers). atlst some of them wud try to find the motivation that is behind the princi's statements and dig into it.
School teachers always want their students to learn n live better. Similarly our lecturers. Some say, 'avarum college okke kazhinju vannathalle'. If one person ws lazy or irresponsible in his college days, he cant afford to tel- let them also b like tht,wen he stands in a respnsble post.

Dont hav any grudge to me writing like this. It's nt meant to criticise u personally. U had the courage to open the discussion,well done. I understand tht this is a common thinking,n my comment is for all those.
Ultimately blogs are all view points,so take it in the right sense. This is my view point.

The post intends to protest the cynical attitude shown towards career opportunities other than pure tech.There may be guys out there who may shine more in these domains and they can be misled or disheartened.

Ya i agree that persuasive talkin skills are really great for anybody to have,but in every words of our princi the pesimist or the cynic him in is quiet visible.His talks have always been spirit dampening.He should understand that software has also got career oppurtunities and as Radkris pointed out the one who quit infy in two weeks will do the same wherever he goes.So the one thing missing in those guys are they are not that passionate about the work they do.Those guys before joining INFY should have known about the job there b4 joining.One thing is that in the coming decades everyone will have to work hard for their money and to do so they will have to go through all those ordeals that one has to undergo during their initial days in the company
So in my opinion the faculty in college should add to the confidence of the coming generation.Talk positively,let that vibe pass through the pupil.Make him
feel that "Yeh zindagi maze ki baat hai",eventhough many of my friends say that life is really hard.Give him the confidence to chase his dreams.Our princi does try to add to our confidence,but many a time he leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
He has in my opinion no right to question DONKEY.We also have to rejuvinate ourselves and this seems to be a good way to do it

I respect Anupama's opinion, I have to admit I never thought of it that way, but then there's a good reason for that.
Principal, let him motivate GATE aspirants, have we or anybody else in any way barricaded that commendable act? But he once insulted the aspiritations of CAT takers, quote- 'forget CAT'.
Then on another occasion he said, the odds to crack CAT is 1 in infinity.
Our prinicipal has taken so much initiative and is so enthusiastic about starting GATE coaching classes in college. Very good. He has reduced the financial strain on many GATE aspirants by providing cheaper coaching. But enough said, what has he done for CAT? Has he done the same for CAT? I vivdly remember the way he delayed signing our CAT representation forms.
Then about Infosys, has he worked there to comment or speak sardonically about it? It was his bad luck to meet totally incomptent people who chose to work in Infy following the hype, yes, the hype.
You said he only encourages our best interests and wishes for the best for all of us. He is a good motivator, agreed, but only to GATE takers. To the CAT students, I call his attempts at 'motivation' (if any) utterly dubious. And I, forgive me, can't see him wishing for my best interests.

I have some reservations on what don said that doesn't mean that i am fully
subscribing to anupama's view.That is princi should respect the view of an individual of our age,we may not have got enough experience as he has but he as an individual should not be that sardonic with his comments.That shows how a person he is,even if he might be a good teacher.
On the other hand we cannot say that he is not caring for the intersts of the cat aspirants because a teacher for 35 years just can't do that.His caring for students has reached such a level that he is over caring for us and intruding a bit more than what he can.Putting three series tests wont help our knowleddge a bitand for the same reason the assignment also.
The system should change.No use of complaining about our princi the people,the so called "academicians" should understand that the students will not improve with series tests.
THE SYSTEM SHOULD CHANGE,NOT THROUGH
VIOLENCE BUT WITH INTELLECT.
